Home Espresso Brewing Guide

Tools Needed:
- Home espresso machine
- 1 -tb of freshly roasted Passport espresso, ground fine or for espresso.
- Soft water or boiled distilled water
- Milk of choice
Step 1: Fill the portafilter with a portion of finely ground coffee. Tamp the grounds down with enough pressure to press the grounds into a firm and level puck. After tamping coffee should be at the line in portafilter.
Step 2: Reattach the portafilter on the grouphead and begin brewing.
Step 3: An espresso shot should brew or "pull" for 21-27 seconds and have a golden colored crema.
Step 4: You should end up with 1 1/2 oz. shot of liquid espresso.
Step 5: Steam your milk using the machine's steam wand, till the temperature reached 150 Fahren
Step 6: Combine your espresso and milk in whatever combination desired to create a cappuccino, latte, etc.
Notes:
- If the extraction time is more than 21-27 seconds, the grind should be more coarse. If the extraction time is quicker, the grind should be more fine.
- A shot that is too light indicates the coffee is ground too course. Espresso that is too dark indicates the grind is too fine.
- We recommend cleaning your machine regularly with EVO Espresso Cleaner (available for purchase on our website).
