Ethiopia Wush Wush - Natural
Air Roasted • Limited • Rare
The Wush Wush varietal is one of Ethiopia’s rarest and most celebrated coffee treasures, originally discovered in the Bench Maji region and now cultivated in select high-elevation farms. This exceptional lot from Oromia showcases the depth and intensity that makes Wush Wush so sought after among specialty coffee enthusiasts.
Grown at elevations reaching over 2,100 meters, this coffee develops remarkable complexity through its environment alone—but what truly sets it apart is the 120-hour extended dry fermentation process. After hand-selecting only the ripest cherries, the coffee undergoes controlled anaerobic fermentation for five full days before drying on raised beds. This method creates an explosive, fruit-forward profile with layered sweetness and a wine-like character.
In the cup, expect a vibrant sangria-like fruit intensity, floral aromatics, and a lingering sweet finish. With a cupping score of 90, this is a standout offering that highlights the artistry of Ethiopian coffee production and the uniqueness of the Wush Wush varietal.
